There have been big deer like this taken there before but it was always kept on the low down.

So kill the buck of a lifetime and hide it in the closet just to make it easier to draw tags loco

That's a heck of a buck, congrats to the hunter.

This deer was killed in Kansas, right Budman whistle ? Story in the paper was a mixup.

No need to apply for Grapevine next year b/c we all know there are no deer in Denton/Tarrany counties.

I showed the newspaper article to a coworker who runs a horse ranch just off T.W. King road.....he said they saw that buck regularly and called him "Thor".

I hunt Grapevine for deer, hogs, duck, anything legal. and with only 3 listed parking areas you will walk a good distance to get to em. And dont forget no bait, no blinds or stands up unattended for longer then 24 hours. It is true primitive hunting and not for those with week legs or light commitment.

Knowing this, that deer is a major piece of work, both in the effort by the hunter and in the luck. I've had 4 different shooter bucks in view but never in shot range or position in the last 4 years (1 of those bucks 4 times in 2 years) they are wiley and very alert.

Congrats on the beast of a life time, a true accomplishment. ROCK ON!!!! cheers

Go get your horns quick if they are still at the meat market... there are too many horror stories to count.

Thanks mandrake. I've got the scares to prove the commitment, the place is one big sticker bush. Anyone have any luck with hogs? I wish the corps would let us bait them, so we could help with the population control.

Thanks again for all the pats on the back. Hopefully, I will meet a few of you guys before our permits expire. Maybe have coffee and trade stories of our hunts.

That is a safe bet for sure. I live close by and hunted there 2 of the last 3 years. It USED to be easy to get a permit. No more, probably going to be like drawing Chaparal for a long time.
Congrats to the hunter. That is not an easy place at all to access or hunt.
