The GW's stopped by our camp in San Saba County opening weekend. Checked all the Deer and tags/logs. Then hung out and chewed the fat a little then boogied. Seems like some great guys. Just doin' their jobs. Our job is to shoot 'em, their job is to check 'em. They're always welcome in our camp.

Yea we had some check us before on the ranch while bird hunting.. he must have been blind cause he cut across the pasture towards us(instead of stayin on road ways) and spent the next hour unwrapping electric fence wire off his drive shaft and rearend.

Most landowners have a good standing with the GW and give them combos to the gate but if they think that laws could be violated they don't need any permission to enter your place.

Wow this is a old thread.

Oh and the whole original point of the thread was how do GWs get in a place with a combo lock. Well they don't need the code or a key, they know a certain trick that will open any combo lock up with no problem. So if you think you're place is safe if you have a combo lock that nobody knows the code to, think again.

That's fine, I know they do it though. They can get in a combo lock just like I can break into any dodge pickup of the last body style (2002?-now) with only a screwdriver in about 10seconds and you would have to look really hard to figure out how I did it. There is a trick to get around about anything

On a key lock yes, but not on a good combo lock. Yeah the trick would be cutting the lock.

Youtube is full of videos on how to jimmy a combination lock. A hammer and a piece of small rope will work on a lot of them.

A deputy told me a GW told him it could be done with a rubber mallet. Haven't figured out how that works yet.

I'll bet someone they can't open the lock without breaking it. They don't even have to show me how they did it, just do it and I will pay up. Still calling BS.

You don't have to believe it, the proof is when the GW gets onto a place locked with a combination lock without the code or breaking the lock.

Just like they don't need a warrant to search a home, I guess you believe that also.

I got 50 bucks for how ever can open a lock that I furnish, without breaking it.

I hunted a ranch for years that had a combo lock on the gate. No one ever knew the combination, they just opened it up and drove in.

You just lift up on the hinge side of the gate and lift the pins out of the hinge. No problem.

Wow, where did I say anything about the legality of anything. All I said was they could get through the lock

One hinge should be down and one should be up. But a real good gate everything is welded. No way to undo anything.

How long does this take? I want to be there to see how long it takes, and to make sure the lock is not changed or damaged.
