The last three years have really been strange here in this area. But I think you can chalk it up to the drought out in this area. some of the locals say we had a die off of mature bucksdue to the drought. dont know but something has really changed the number of quality bucks being seen on our lease. Lots of young 6 8 10 pointers and smaller knuckle heads but only a few nice older bucks .

At Least some of y'all are seeing something. I've in seen 2 deer this year. Nothing on the cams. Landowner made a comment that he just isn't seeing deer like he use to. After this year I have 2 more years on this lease. Looking back at the past 5 years...of seeing NOTHING I pray I never step foot in this county again.

I got skunked for the second time ever on this property on sunday morning. However, i checked under the other two feeders where I wasnt sitting and that is where the deer were that morning... Water is getting scarce in our area. our ponds have about dried up WE need rain badly!!!

Besided the first few weekends it has been EXTREMELY slow. My dad and i both got skunked this past weekend, didn't see a darn thing. We are just outside of town about 10 min on 2887 (also known as Old Winters Highway i believe)

I have a good idea where you are fire... We are just a mile or so past the cemetery.
We are on about 150 -160 with no food plots, but the the 2 properties that surround us both have food plots and they aren't seeing much etheir.

Went down last week...Wed, Thurs, Friday. Nothing! Please answer me this! I had set out my game camera back in August. Had deer galore august through October. Big NICE bucks lots of does...
However come deer season GONE! Checked the camera and only got a pic of 1 doe and a small basket 9pt in the month of November.
Whats the deal man! where are the deer?

I had a similar thing happen this year on my place in Coke county near Bronte. Severaly nice der in my area until mid September and then they just disapeared. 1st time it happened to me their. Maybe the bumper acorn crop this year pulled them away and they never came back.

Maybe the bumper acorn crop this year pulled them away and they never came back. Im a little worried at our place for the same reasons. We had 10-15 deer coming in at a time to our feeders in the late summer and early bow season then they just seem to vanish. The problem is I cant blame that on acorns since we hunt mainly mesquite and cactus terrain. We also have surprisingly low hunting pressure in our area. Who knows...

Who knows... Same here...I can count maybe 3 oaks on our place that would produce acorns. Something isnt right. We have 6 guys on our lease and no one is seeing anything! Tanks are full enough... All I can do is pray for next year...and wait it out another 2 years before I can pack my bags on this lease. Im just Frustrated!

Well, my place is family property so all I can do is pray for the best! But I can tell you we are in BAD need of rain at our place. Im wondering if this drought is taking a toll on some deer Cowdog. You guys got more rain than us even just being a little to the north. We got spotty rains throughout the spring while everyone around us flooded. Now we are going on 3 months without a single drop and the tanks are just about bone dry now.

Well, my place is on Hwy 158 County Road 214. Two of the guys went this past weekend one of them shot an eight, they also mentioned that the deer were moving so im getting a little pumped for this weekend. I sure hope I see somthing, going to b out there 4 days and its been slow at my feeder.
