Couple weeks ago I was huntin in Ks. I took 2 game cams as well. I did a little "Myth Busters" while there. I hear so many hunters that takes bottles to pee in so it doesn't "spook" the deer. What I'm about to show you, I have been doing for years now. What I did, is make my own scrape and emptied my bladder in it. I also make sure I have a low over hanging limb for a "licking branch" and set my camera up. Although I knew what would happened, I was still amazed at the results. Keep this in mind, this was done in only ONE NIGHT!!! Here we go!!!

my bro-in-law told me that when he was in law school they day hunted on a piece of property near Waco. They stopped in to check in with the couple that lived at the entrance and a rather rough looking woman that lived there offered some "fresh" used tampons. She swore up and down that if you hung them in the tree that it would work better than tinks 69. He said they declined as politely as the could.

I had a #7 but it was a one horn spike and I had deleted the pic before I even thought about posting this. Guess you can say this "Myth" is BUSTED!!!
Now, what really amazed me was the number of Does that came to it as well. I had nearly a dozen in that one night. But of course, I deleted those pics as well. Also, you can't tell if it's the same ones or all different does. These were all from a scrape I made and my pee.

Here is one from another location. I made a scrape right next to his and I peed in it as well. Man, did he get mad. He tore my lickin branch completly off the tree.

Ok, so we busted that myth.

BUT , What if you pee in a real scrape? One made by a buck. Well, I tried that too!!! Me thinks that even works BETTER!!!

If you or anybody else has been peeing in a bottle and buying store bought "deer urine" yall have been just (no pun intended) pissin in the wind!!!

I saw a studie years ago and the students put out different deer scents, tinks, code blue,and human pee and every deer went to the human pee first. I still dont pee out of my stand. LOL

Deer are just not afraid of human pee, at least at my place. I probably pee'd off my tripod 10 times during the day on Saturday and the deer didn't care at all.

Sort of makes sense. Most mamimal urine is made up of the same base components.. ammonia/water/heavy minerals. Wouldn't think there would be a lot of diffenece between our pee and a deer.

I was going to sell them for $2....

I do it all the time. Ive had bucks come to scrapes minutes after i peed in them, and the tampon thing, yes it works well. No need for story just have to trust me.

I was talking to a biologist one time at a seminar and he said all urine (human & deer) breaks down into ammonia within one hour.
