Glad she's doing better. Just got off the phone with RGC who asked if I had seen any updates. Had to call him back as I just saw this.
We'll keep on pulling for Blaze.

Did the vet say how much rodent posion would need to be eaten to cause problems in a dog?

Glad to hear John.
Did the vet say how much rodent posion would need to be eaten to cause problems in a dog? When we were talking about the blood work issues I asked if it might be a dosage thing. Such as a milder dose causing what we were seeing with the initial bloodwork as I feel she would have only eaten a small amount moved to rat nest or an actual rat. I am certain she did not get hold of a say an actual package of poison. They called poison control while I was there when we brought her in to the pet hospital and this was one of the questions asked. They said dosage did not matter. A small amount or a large amount would give the same outcome.

BTW, Blaze this evening was very much back to herself. Very vocal and dramatic on the greeting. Tonight, I think I will finally be able to sleep.
And yes, that dog will be spoiled rotton this weekend like never before.

To wrap this up.
Blaze's last PCV test was up to 27. Still a little anemic, but coming up on it's own, so she came home early Friday. Blaze had orders to take it easy and has been a handfull for my wife. The way my wife put it" I think they gave her puppy blood with that transfusion". She will get a blood test done in 4 weeks and stay on a daily dose of vitamin K for up to 6 weeks. When I carried her in to the pet hospital she was in the golden hour. If you could have seen her at that moment and then see her right now, you would not believe it. We have no worries over her at this time other than not knowing when, where, or how the exposure took place. One last time, thank you from my family to everyone here for your help, thoughts, and prayers to get through this.

I feel for ya. If it was an anticoag rat bait, the K will do the trick. If it was the neurotox type your post would read a little sadder. To be that sick, your dog must have ingested quite a bit. It's like any blood thinner, more dosage, more hemorrhaging. The MSDS gives the lethal 50 doses for any rat bait. A little will make them sick, but a lot will cause a stroke within days. You should locate the source and notify the Tx dept. of Ag. Seems to be a misapplication of pesticides. They tend to frown on that. Since there was an injury, someone really needs to pay. If it was a pro, they need to lose their license before they hurt a child, or another animal. I cannot stress enough the importance of using secured bait stations.
