I just read all five pages and still no story? I knew I should have jumped to the last page. My head hurts now. Thanks Sig.

Looks like a nice buck to me. Good job to him if no rules or laws were broken. Go figure it is the newest guy on the lease and didn't have to put any work into it to take a nice deer from your stand. Sound to me that we have the same luck. bang Dangit man. rofl

That deer should should still be walking in my opinion. The greater concern may be why he was in your stand

Just got the rest of the story, fellows...

It turns out ol' sig got a wicked case of the green-apple splatters and this opportunistic gentlemen saw him running down the main road of the lease with his hands clasped tightly over his behind and knew he had a few minutes. And a few minutes was all he needed.

If sig had just laid off that last brewsky the night before or that large bran muffin that morning or maybe just had 1 fewer cup of coffee, that deer might very well still be alive.

Nice deer for a newbie. What's the story or issue?

I wouldn't shoot it with my gun but I would with my bow bolt

JK wouldn't shoot either way, but if I was new to hunting I would

I would need more info on the hunter and situation along with some rules or expected etiqutte on your place.

I would not even raise my binoculars up to look at the deer, but that doesnt mean everyone is the same. I still go by what my Grandfather told me 35 years ago, "Son if it gets your heart rate up and your blood pumping, it is worth taking." Told me that after I shot my first deer and my Dad was ripping me cause it was his little 7 point and broke thier rules. As a 6 year old, I wasnt quite up to speed with the RESTRICTIONS. bang

I hunt Foard. From only aging the face the deer should have a better set of antlers I think it's a good cull.

OK, thanks for all the opinions.

I think it was a nice deer. As stated our policies are wide open, and this guy has worked hard with us this summer and fall. Glad to have him aboard.

I too think it's older than many here. I'll see the teeth this week and get back to you. Body-wise he's a big deer... the guy in the background is about 6 foot 230...

He said he saw it early and it hung around 30 minutes or so before he took it. Super job and congratulations on my part!

If there were ARs there, he wouldn't have had to settle on such an average deer because he'd have had a broad selection of vastly superior bucks to choose from.

Too bad, but good for him for a successful hunt in an area that is self-crippling. Lord knows a decent hunt in a non-AR county isn't exactly easy.
