Are you only planning on match shooting with this rifle or any hunting?
Hunting is my primary purpose. Infact, I just took a buck with it last weekend. I wanted a rifle that I could take resonably long range shots on big game (400 yards plus). I do intend to do long range shooting at targets but haven't considered match shooting. TV, Congrats on your buck. Are you hunting with the Sierra Game King BTHP? Gonna see if I can get my hands on one. Might need more info on the loads you are using for hunting. Thanks for all the info. KC

I bought this one's little brother from McBrides last year, same gun, just in .223 I put a Leupold 8.5x25 on it. I put a Jewel in it a week after I got it. Sendero: I would also love to have the 5R in the 223. How difficult was it to install the Jewel?

If you can punch out two pins, realign them and punch them back in you are good to go.

matt redchevy: Remimngton does not list this gun in their catalog. Not sure why. I read that they only produce 500 per year.
