Bow only until thanksgiving. If I don't have a deer by then I will grab the rifle to make sure I have meat for the freezer.

I'll probably bring the bang stick in the mornings when it's too cold to draw. Evenings are fair game though for the PSE......... Already taken three pigs and a doe this season....why stop now???

The gun will be in the truck or hanging on the tree next to me. Not sure when the deer rut on my new lease but if they are rutting I'll use a gun.

I sometimes wish I gun hunted so I could just sit in an enclosed blind and get some rest. I hunted so much this last week I think I'll pass on this week end and go next week end.

These old bones are getting tired of climbing and being in the elements.

bow for deer only. mostly because im limited to public lands. but i still prefer a bow for deer. shotgun with slugs for hogs. im too hooked on bow hunting for deer.

both , these wide open spaces out here in west tx are a challenge for even a rifle in the cold months...i will be bowhunting until the mesquite leaves fall though..
