Davids Meats in Garland on Jupiter. Have used them for years. You get your deer back. Have never had a problem and the prices are really good. Bacon wrapped back strap filets, steaks, chili meat and tenderlions for $55.

i would have to say eddie ray's (elm mott,) , unless you know them personally very good chance you will not get your own deer back, few years back brought in a young doe and got back a stinky old buck meat back. Know a few last year who took the chance with them and ended up asking for there money back.

I love Woodbury's Wild Game Processing -they have a diversity of options on what you can do with your meat and the quality is exceptional! Located in Ingram: 3286 Junction Hwy Ingram, TX 78025 830-367-5855

I think the Country Meat Market in Tyler/East Texas is about the only place around that is still taking deer. Other places had too many

I take mine to Rust off Hwy 46 in New Braunsfels. I have been pleased with their service to my out-of-state hunters and their prices are fair I think. I just took a deer there yesterday. Butterfly the straps, stew meat and hamburger the rest, except the loins. $60.

Fischer's in Muenster can't be beat. BUT if you get the chance to take one into Kuby's or at least a roast or hind 1/4 get yourself some "hunter sticks" made up. Slim Jims on HGH!!!
I'm in Cass county now, East TX. Does anyone have a suggestion for a processor out that way?

Hamiltons Meat Market in Weatherford, they do it right, no mixing meat, and it's not the expensive deer processor price, like 50.00 for a basic cut. Just bring it in quartered and they will take care of ya. I have taken Muledeer, antelope, and hogs there, great job.

Neals Processing in Chester,Tx. $65 for field dressing, steaks, ground meat and tenderized. $55 if you bring it in already field dressed.

Ye old butcher shop... Hirsch meats in west plano I've used both and depends what you want done. I would go to Kubys in Dallas. Well worth the drive in my opinion.

I second Kuby's. Used Ye olde a long time ago but after an issue went to Kubys. Best sausage I have ever tasted..

My doe last year was at Joshua Deer Processing. Loved their summer and esp. the jalapeno-cheese summer sausage. Did a great job on the cuts of meat, and the deer-burger was ground great and hope I can get my first buck down to them.
Supposedly the taxidermist next door to them is supposed to be good too.
That brings up a side question, depending on the quality of my first buck if I get one this year. Do ya'll recommend a full mount or euro for a first buck? I've got my eye on a 8pt at my uncles place but that's if he'll come out. I saw 0 deer last Saturday from 4am - 6pm. I let a 4-6pt that was around 2yrs walk 4 weeks ago walk since I would feel bad shooting him so young and his rack was perfectly balanced/symmetrical.

I've used both Ye Ol Butcher and Hirsches or however you spell it. Ye Ol was really good but you didnt get your deer back and the health dept. slapped them pretty hard a couple times. I moved to Hirsches and it was OK but really expensive. Only went there once. I've taken both deer this year to Kuby's and as SSJR said, worth the drive. Quick turn around, great taste and lots of choices. In fact, I went there today to drop one off.
H20thief ------------ Positive thinking may not solve all your problems but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Stay away from Ye Ole Butcher shop, in Plano. You won't get your deer, and what you do get will be rank.
My hunting buddy and I made that mistake, and it won't happen again.

Hirshes is excellent...
They banned hogs a few years ago, but the deer are really good. Jap/Cheese and link summer sausage are top notch.
Kuby's is good, but they give you all the sausage in a big bag (freezes all together). Hirshes will wrap in 1 lb increments.
