Not sure any Texas native would even call that BBQ.

I like there breakfast burritos better than anything. I agree with killer. I was never a fan of Rudy's until I had their breakfast burritos. Some of the best chorizo and egg burritos ever! Brisket and egg burritos are pretty tasty too.

The only positive I can give from Rudy's besides the breakfast, is at least when you order ribs they come dry and not soaked in sauce. I hate wet ribs, unless they are South Carolina with the Mustard based sauce.
Oh and they serve beer, I definately prefer BBQ joints that you can get a cold beer at.

I hate Rudys.
Now smokeys or famous daves is pretty good stuff. At least in the El Paso area.

I have had far worse BBQ than Rudy's...Spring Creek, Dickies, Colters, Bodacious BBQ in Tyler, just to name a few.

Seems like nobody can agree on a Texas BBQ joint haha... What's the old saying, BBQ is like opinions everyone's got one (I know Bill, it's not opinions, it's A.H.'s, but didn't want to say that}. Swinging Door (Richmond), Vincek's (East Bernard), Hinzes (Wharton & Sealy), Austins (Eagle Lake), what's the place in Symington?, actually Luling on Richmond in Houston, oh also the one in El Campo?. Phil PS: I actually like Rudy's too.

I've got a Rudy's a couple of miles from the house. As long as they don't trim it, it's not the best, but it works in a pinch. Helluva lot better than Dickeys.

The problem with Bar-B-Que, it's like sex! Even when it's bad it's good, and 90 % of men don't know if it is good or bad.

Bodacious is location specific. There are decent locations and horrible ones. If you go to the older ones, they are usually pretty good. With that said their prices are ridiculous for what you get.

The one on I20 should be closed down and burned to the ground. I had the worst BBQ I've ever had there. Meat tasted like it was cooked in an oven with no smoke flavor and dried out.

There are several on or Just off of I-20. The only one I would go to is the one off of Hwy 43, even though it can be hit or miss.

I love BBQ, could eat it three meals a day... and have before. I have eaten Ruddys before and never found it to be objectionable. To me BBQ, brisket, ribs, sausage are all things that should be cheap to eat. However it is hard to find a good plate of bbq for under ten dollars, and if you want ribs it is usualy more. You are paying for a bunch of bones. Because of this I will rarely eat bbq at a resaurant, what can be made at home is just as good, and in my opinion so much better.
