Here is the Deal:

In this thread I want a young-Adult (12-17 years old) to write a post on why they want to get into waterfowl hunting, what it means to them, who has shown them how to get started, maybe even some experiences they have had in the field...

Then we will do a poll and Ya'll can choose who win's...I know that some of the Adults on here have kids, but I would like to gear this toward the younger crowd that lurks on here, or maybe someone's nephew/neice, that wants to get started...

This is not solely limited to one individual, but possibly 2 or even 3.

I will collect as many items as possible to send to the winner (s)

Right now the list of items include: Decoys, huntin' bag(s), game strap(s), duck / goose calls, and some other misc. items...

Please post to this thread: (sending me a pm will not make you a winner)

The winner will be picked October 11th and items will be shipped out so that you can use them for "youth Weekend"

Cool idea and a great way to pass it on, I'm young but not young enough for this one. If you only get posts from peoples children on here for Dad to get a bunch of new stuff, im not saying samsam is doing this his daughter sure could love to hunt, but if you dont get enough applicants. If you are ever hunting public and see some younger people out there busting it to get better and find some ducks give them some gear and it would make their year. Also, if you ever get clients with kids who can't really afford the stuff you are giving away and its a big deal for them to pay someone to hunt, I would give them some stuff. Just a few suggestions if this one doesn't pan out

I Think I Should Get The PRIZE Because….
I am a Beginner Hunter. And I think this would be a good start for me! I have gone Duck hunting once before, and I had LOTS of FUN…. I shot my first duck... I was so excited... I was literally shaking with EXCITMENT and had a big smile; it didn’t even fit my face!! We went with my family... I had lots of fun. My dad and I just got our hunting licenses not too long ago... Right now I have been shooting a 12gage, triple action, Shotgun!! It hurts at first when u don’t put it in the right place... I had a bruise the first time I shot!!... But the shotgun is only a loan from our Uncle CHRIS! BUT IM GOING TO BE GETTING A SINGLE ACTION... 4-10... AND U JUST OPEN THE BARELL... My dad says it will help me learn how to control the muzzle!!!! And I am really into hunting... Even though that was my first hunt!!... IT’S AWESOME!! EVEN WHEN U SIT THERE ALL DAY JUST WIATING!! U STILL GETS TO HANG OUT WITH FAMILLY!!!

Hi. My name is Ashley, Im 12 years old. I have been duck hunting one time with my stepdad. It was cold!! Even though we didnt see very many ducks, I had a fun time and plan to go again this year. He bought me and my brother a single shot 20 guage and I am getting better with it. Hopefully this year I will shoot a duck!!! And also, hopefully the next time I go I wont fall in the water! My stepdad and his friend thought it was really funny when I was screaming and setting in the water.. But they did help me up. I would really like to win this stuff and learn more about the fun sport of duck hunting. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Estabon Holmes. I am thirteen years old, and I love duck hunting .I am a beginner hunter,and have only been hunting about two years. I like waterfowl hunting because to me it is more of a challenge to shoot a bird flying in the air than hunting an animal on the ground. Duck hunting is a good hobby for me to get into so I have something to do on the weekends or when I don't have school. Duck hunting means a lot to me because it is something I really enjoy doing and I can spend time with my uncles. My two uncles Jeremy and Booger are the ones that got me started hunting. They take me hunting with them as much as they can. On the very first hunting trip with them, at the spot we were at, there were ducks everywhere. I was excited! Two ducks flew in at the same time. I shot at them and both ducks fell with only one shot. I thought that was cool. At the time I used a twenty gauge single shot, and now i have a 20 gauge pump. I have only a couple duck calls and a camo bucket to use. It would be really nice to not have to borrow my uncle's stuff when we are hunting. Duck hunting RULES!

I love hunting, it is a fun sport or activeaty that you can hunt all types of animals. My favorite animal to hunt is deer, hogs, or ducks. When I grow up I would love to have a rifle and a lisens just like my dad. It is so much fun going with him and one day I hope to take one of my boys. I started when I was nine but at that time I couldn't shoot but I have learned, have a gun, and have a pocket knife. My grandpa told me to always bring 3 things when duck hunting. Toliet paper, a pocket knife and a flashlight. So that is my story about hunting and I love it so. Thank you, Landon.

My daughter is 11 so she is not in the age limits for this but if she was you would be amazed at this little girl and her duck hunting. She is ate up with it. Way more than I am. We went to her open house last year and her teacher told the class to write a short story on something they like to do. Well my daughter wrote 3 pages when all the other kids wrote half a page. Yep you guessed it, it was all about duck hunting lol. She wrote on her book covers that she loves duck hunting on all of them. The funny thing is she has only been 3 times in her life. She asked me the other day if I knew what time it was, I was like, 5? She said no, it's almost duck season. lol Wished she was just another year older to be part of this.
