I just screwed it on with a few 3" wood screws. The thing's so heavy it just sits there. It's been through several big storms and hasn't moved yet.

Yes, as there are no trees and you can see further on the ground. I would even go as far as sinking a stand in the ground on flat/level ground! That way you can REALLY see a long distance

6x4 box blind a just got out last weekend. Fairly easy and cheap to build. It's on a 6" raised floor and stands 5' tall with a bit of a pitch.



Still need to get windows in there.

And it's perfectly level, although the pic isn't the best...

I got one about 9 yr ago paid about $300.00 for the stand & my oldest son still hunt out of it.I made my own base for about $100.00 8' tall but you can buy the base which I believe comes in either 6' or 10' but i think then they were like $250.00 & $ 300.00. Just make sure you tie it down thier super light!!!!

What do you use for the legs..? angle iron? square tubing? is that sucker rod for the bracing?
starting to build some and would like to get a few ideas together

The complete stand is made out of 16ga. 1" square tubing. The braces are 1" angle iron 1/8".

Yes plenty sturdy, and light enough to raise with 4 wheeler or two people. Had these up for 8 years, no problem with any of them.

Fiberglass custom blinds I build. 4x6. Very quiet, very warm. Usually do not put window in the back unless requested. Interior, from windows up, is painted black.

Where do you get the material for your window slides?

$600. Just for the blind. I don't ususally make the stand for it to sit on...but can. That would be a little extra.

I custom fabricate them from scrap material where I work. They are perfect for 1/4" plexiglass.

I am new to this so i hope you get the post. Do you build any other sizes of the fiberglass blinds besides the 4x6?
