I'll say 25/06 and I don't even own one... maybe the next thing I buy though...
The best deer cal. is the one you have when it's time to hunt.

LMAO I hunt real deer north of the red river and if i can lay down a 200-260 lb deer under 400 yards with a a 25-06 then whats the issue. I know its illegal to shot those little itty bitty baby swamp donkeys of east tx with less then a 300mag...

I did have one witness. His jaw was hanging low! That would be my longest shot on a deer yet don't think i want to try any farther. But it was funnnn!

Tolerance is the virtue of a man without conviction.

I own two old boxes of 30/06 accelerators and you can't hit the broad side of a barn with them.

LMFAO!!! my step dad bought a .300 to replace his old 30-06.......biggest deer he shot with it weighed 120lbs on the hoof and was 85 yards away......and it still took off about 30 yards into the brush, took him an hour to find it!

Hell my dad bought a 338 to go caribou hunting with tried it out on a 70 lb doe at a 100 yards & she went 60 yards with a shot right in the boiler room behind the shoulder. Some times it does matter if you put 53 grains or 220 grains of lead into them they just eat it up.

Thats sounds right up my alley im closer to millersview. We had a monster freak show up last year in bow season but my buddy blew him out just before rifle and he never came back. He looked like a barn door at 100 yards on the game pics. We have alot of eights on this place some should be just right for the picking this year. We only shot one mature deer on the place last year.
