Just curious! I would love to see some of the biggest buck photos you have and share with every one to prove you dont need to have a whitetail high fence/pen and high protein food to shoot big'ns! Ill post the first.

Although I agree whole heartedly, you are going to make lots of friends around here. Alot of folks really like their "Zoos"

My kids have taken a few over the years. Although not trophys in some people's eyes, they sure enough like 'em.:

Both of these bucks pictured were taken because neither could hardly walk because of previouly being injured in years prior. The oldest boy took the buck on the left. Rear leg on the buck on the opposite side of the rack which didn't make had been badly broken in years previous and completely healed. Leg was much shorter than the other.

The larger buck was taken by my father. A neighbors nephew/ grandson had claimed to have shot a monster the previous year. He shot the deer, went over and inspected it. He went to get help to clean the buck and when they returned , the deer was gone. I skinned out this buck and found bullet fragments all in his spine from the year before. Buck prolly weighed 100lbs at most, his back legs were as small as his front.

Wow that must have been one tough fella to survive that. Was his backbone actually broken at all, or were the fragments just deeply embedded in there?

great stories and I love the look on those boys faces, that is what life is about! Also really nice looking euro mounts.

those are great bucks, good for those kids!

one question directed at the poster....... you think it would mean any less to those kids if the bucks were taken on a high fence place?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I liked the "Zoo" better than pen. rofl

Do you feel better now by trying to insult those that hunt behind a fence or use protein. confused2

Heres mine. Less than 1/2 "zooed" and only fed cotton seed...does that still count. It wouldn't really matter because the area where I killed the buck has monsters without the stuff you speak of

The top third of his backbone ( about an inch long) was missing.

Those were the first Euro mounts that the boys did themselves, for the most part.

Well, I just asked the oldest boy and he said that taking one from behind a high fence would have felt like going out to the pasture and shooting his pet steer.

The youngest said it wouldnt have made a bit of difference. He has taken bigger deer than pictured, I just dont have them uploaded.

I personally could care less if one feeds deer kryptonite, protein or corn. Also high fence/low fence. It's just not for me and I won't allow my children to do it.

If you do shoot a big buck on a low fence place it's only because it escaped off a high fence place somewhere...everybody knows that...

If he wanted to insult anyone he could have said, "let's see your pictures of non pen raised bucks!"

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

top one grossed 190 ?/8...netted 189 ?/8 as a typical 10. Not sure of the exact change.

This is the biggest taken off of our place, taken by a friend of my brother 5 years ago. Before AR's and no protein, 143 net.
