White solar powered motion lights. Tried all the other yard lights and was not satisfied with them.

NO.... They don't spook. The color talk is all hype for a buck IMO.. We've been doing the same thing as Helomech. Now, once you shoot into them a time or two they'll stay away for a bit, but they'll be back. It's all what they get used to.

No not at all, I have shot all my hogs off the same light, and can still do it almost any night of the week I want to. See lots of deer under the lights also.

+1 for the white solar powered, motion sensored garden lights.

I used it at one of my feeders. Mine is not ultra bright, but bright enough to see stuff at 70 to 100 yards.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

The one I have is 250 yards from where I shoot and there is enough light to make the shot with ease.

Tractor Supply Company. 40 bucks, solar powered, lights up the whole feeder pen. End of Story.

GET THE BRIGHT ONES FROM LOWES OR HOME DEPOT, THEY HAVE 3 LEDS PER LIGHT WITH A CHROME TYPE BACKING THAT MAKES THEM REFLECT BRIGHTER. I MOUNT TO THE SIDE OF THE FEEDER AND AIM BOTH MY LIGHTS DIRECTLY UNDER THE FEEDER. PLENTY OF LIGHT AND BOTH THE HOGS AND DEER GET USED TO THEN QUICKLY.

No a solar panel.

OK,

if you don't have a telephone pole, how would you go about mounting one? I don't really want to mount one on my barrel-don't want too many holes in it that might allow moisture.

Was thinking a 5 gallon bucket, quickcrete and a couple of fence posts would make a nice portable mounting system...

Dave

Anything will work, you could just dig a hole and bury a 4X4 and mount it to that.

Helomech,

I've got that same double light and a black version of the white one, I think. mine has the 90 LED's. Lights up the world. Both deer and hogs will hang out under it. I think the color thing is BS.

You can also get one of the TV mast poles and the foldable tripods to mount it on. Makes it portable. Lowes sells the mast cheaper than Radio Shack. The tripods are cheaper online, but you can get them at Radio Shack. Use big nail spikes to anchor it.

I agree, I have killed many hogs under those lights.

Yes, the color thing is 10000% without a doubt utter total BS. I have killed 45 hogs in the last 18 months, all under white lights like the others have.
