No ringer or spoonie as we know they are dumb

Northern Shovelers aren't included or they would be on my list. I can honestly say I have had wood duck come into the decoys and i would shoot and kill one or shoot and miss altogether. I would hit them with a fast come back call and they would come back and circle the decoys in range so I could get another shot.

I wouldn't have chosen any of the above. Teal and spoonies would have been my top pics.

wigeon gets my vote. They're always the ones that seem to appear out of nowhere and land right in the big middle of the spread before you've even seen them. wood ducks would be my second choice.

Up north yes, but once they get in the saltwater i think they get stupid.

if my wife can get a her pintail every time she goes hunting at the coast.. those ducks are STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!.

If the Duck can land and then not take off before see stands asks if its a pintail or not... wait for my reply and then shoot it or listen to me scream...PINTAIL LIMIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Then its dumb!!!!!!!!!!

but i agree the are tough up here, But then again I pretty positive they hate mallards so if you blowing a mallard call... could be the reason.

Many of the pintails I see up here are flying with mallards.

I have killed a lot of pintails in south Texas too. When they are fresh they can be easy to decoy. But later in the season they get smart quick and can be the most frustrating duck out there.

Back when they had the season with in the season. They would be the easiest duck to decoy when you couldn't shoot them, then the day it opened they got smart.

I take mallards out of my spread up here in n TX or Oklahoma... i get pintails, put them mallards back in and they look and go bye bye.

At the coast(and i usually don't get to hunt down there tell after Christmas) its seems that pintails just come and come and come and come..for me alteast, and the teal are like f-22's doing fly byes at mock 20. The Wigeon's will decoy pretty good, but I have hell with Red heds they circle real real wide.

No mention of red heads yet? I don't have a lot of experiece hunting them on big water, but the ones that hit ponds dive right in. Since the divers fly low and fast they don't get a good look at ya, either.

The Gaddy is right up there, though. They'll sometimes decoy with you standing in the dekes.

Mallards and gadwalls are the only 2 i've seen and the gadwall came back for me to take another shot at him so i would have to say gadwall.

Ringers without a doubt.

They all come in easy when you know what you're doing.

I picked wood duck as I've had a few give me multiple shot opportunities, but mostly I think the dumb ones are the ones that haven't been pressured too much.

Out of that list I said gaddies. In general I would say teal. Numerous times I've had them land on me while I was out in the decoys... Once I almost reached out and grabbed one when it was sitting down. Maybe it thought I was a tree... Or maybe a stump.
