I read it along with another case from NH that was mentioned and both actually work against you so I thank you. The bias case was over residue tracing in trying to determine who killed his wife so that debunks your using it to prove a myth about making youself look like having a blood thirst. The other was totally torn apart back in the 70's setting legal precidence that's used in cases.

Just give it up man. You've gone from stating falsehoods, to hurling insults, to proving yourself wrong. And you won't even answer simple questions I've asked. Just don't take it personal and move on.

*** My personal home defense load is, ... a 12 gauge shotgun. Easy to point and shoot. Good penetration. Not prone to overpenetrate.

*** Massad Ayoob - is a lot of talk. And he can't shoot worth a darn. I competed with him at a Major match many years ago. He got DQ'd.

There were 240,000 home burglaries in Texas in 2009. Still trying to get the break down on them.

*** I called a Civil Attorney. I told him my 23 year old brother was shot and killed while breaking into a home. I told the attorney I wanted to file a Civil suit. He asked if the DA was filing any charges against the homeowner. I said No. He told me the odds for success were less than 5%. He said it would cost $20K for the retainer. He said it could take 2 - 5 years to settle, including appeals. LOL!

I agree with the shotgun bill.

And ayoob and the like are all self proclaimed experts. I really stay away from seminars and tacti-cool tv shows.

Now as far as getting back on topic I'm really digging anything Federal except that I use gold dots in my XD.

After your daddy read you the case and you did not understand what the experts were saying--and you googled the other police sites--and you still think you have a point. You do-more posts to add to your total!

huntmaster; If your point in saying "whatever you do, don't use reloads for defense, it is a liability issue," was that some lame attourney might try to bring a frivelous lawsuit against you...I see where you are coming from.
However, I fear no lawsuit and trust my personally tailored handloads to factory fodder any day. Are you some kind of talking head for the factory ammo lobby? Your advice is unfounded and only leads to scaring people into buying your factory ammo of choice.
I don't think the original post said anything about, "can/should I use reloads in my police duty weapon." apples and oranges; police defense vs. civilian personal defense.

Took me awhile--but now I see what I'm dealing with. Yes, yes,
I agree with you 100%. Reloads are the way to go.

No I actually googled the one you told me to and found the other one in the article. As far as the daddy comments I happen to be 29 year old veteran of 2 wars and received extensive weapons training in all kinds of enviroments. I'm far from a child. People refer to other people all the time for insight, are you telling me you've never consulted with anyone else?

The only reason you keep on with the daddy comments is because you're avoiding my questions and have nothing to say to rebuke anything I've said. Stop acting immature and drop it you're wrong, case closed.

Dustin,

I see you're in college station. I have several different brands of ammo at the house and you're welcome to a few of each of them to see what your gun likes.

Once again, TEXAS CASTLE LAW

The Texas law protects citizens when an intruder is:

1.) committing certain violent crimes 2.) unlawfully trying to enter a protected place or, 3.) unlawfully trying to remove a person from a protected place.

The law also provides civil immunity for a person who lawfully uses deadly force in the above circumstances.

Nuff Said...

Sec. 83.001. CIVIL IMMUNITY [AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSE]. A [It is an affirmative defense to a civil action for damages for personal injury or death that the] defendant who uses force or[, at the time the cause of action arose, was justified in using] deadly force that is justified under Chapter 9 [Section 9.32], Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from the defendant’s [against a person who at the time of the] use of force or deadly force, as applicable [was committing an offense of unlawful entry in the habitation of the defendant].

Read this,

http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/story?id=5278638&page=2

It wasn't even the guys house. It was his neighbor's house who was not even home. It happened durng day light hours. He shot the two burglars in the back. Killed them both. He called 911. He told the dispatcher he was going to STOP them. He was NOT prosecuted. The Grand Jury found no issues. He was NOT sued.

No questions about his shotgun that he fired 3X!!!

By using the logic above anyone who carries a pistol is already open to such lawsuits. A lawyer could just as easily make a case that you were blood thirsty because you reloaded a bullet made to kill a human as he could because you carried a pistol. So I guess we shouldnt carry one because we could have a lawsuit on our hands... But this thread has gone WAY off topic. offtopic

Dang I know I may regret posting this, simply because of all of the name calling, but my attorney / relative that has been a very avid shooter for over forty years told me to use factory ammo for defense use and reloads for anything else. He told me to do so for the very reasons Huntmaster has been relating to -- it will be CHEAPER to do so. If, and I say If, the dead guy's family can get an attorney to represent them it could cost you $$$$ to defend yourself. It won't matter "how dead" the dead guy is. It could still cost you $$$$ just simply to defend yourself from a frivolous lawsuit. It is all about MONEY.

EDIT: Dustin, In order to get back on topic if your first 45 auto is going to be a 1911 style you may have to experiment with what it will reliably feed. They can be particular. If you are going with something like a Glock or Springfield XD they will eat up anything.

Refer to the immunity law that bill posted Danny and bigdaddy. Can't happen if you're in the right.

I 100% agree with you. I was proving the logic used above for not using reloads to be ridiculious

Thanks for the offer but right now I'm back in Bruceville for the summer so I'm not very close
