What ammo do you use in your 45? For target shooting and for home or personal defense?

I'm about to get a 45acp and just wondering what ammo to get since I've never had a pistol only a revolver

I shoot both ball and hollow points at the range in my CCW. The reason I shoot the holow points is so I know my pistol will be reliable with them.

Depends on what gun your shooting also. My 1911 doesn't really like to feed HPs but my Hk loved them.

I use cheap blazer or Winchester for target and corbon +P HPs

if you reload ive had great luck with a 200 gr truncated hp over 6.9 gr unique. dont set any deeper than 1.250 or you will have some feeding problems in 1911s

Whatever I feel like at the range the Kimber loves it all. I carry with Remington Bonded Golden Sabers.

Are the Golden Sabres a thin walled round? Have you ever seen the penetration they do? This isn't an argument in disguise I honestly would like your take on it.

What ever you do-don't use a reload for a home defense round.
Then it becomes a liability issue if you shoot someone. I shoot 200 gr. SWC at the range or plinking and keep Federals
in the gun at home.

I haven't yet I've been carring them lately becouse thats what my local PD carries, before that I carried Federal Expanding FMJ's. I tested the federals out on some clay around a stock tank and the expanding FMJ's wee more consistant at expanding than original Federal Hydrashocks. I have noticed at the local store that there are bonded and non bonded goldensabers out there.

You will be very lucky to find any officer who uses a reload in his duty weapon--not because it isn't better, but because if he shoots someone with a special made jacked up bullet-the courts do not look at that in a favorable manner. With that in mind, and I sure don't know if you have first hand experience with this(I do) you must certainly be aware that you can be named as a defendent in a lawsuit for almost anything and any reason. The plaintiff attorney is well aware of the Castle doctrine-they could care less and will sue your pants off and you will have attorney defense expenses out the butt. You actually "might" prevail in the long run, and you might get you expenses paid back. But, you better have a big bank account. Don't give a plaintiff attorney any opening-use a Federal Hydra-Shock 230 grain and there will be no issues on the case.

So your saying that if you reload special man stoppers, the prosecution can make a case saying the shooting was premeditated because you used special rounds for it. Even though the new law states that they have to prove your wrong doing as opposed to the old law stating you have to prove ur innocense. Also doesnt the law stated that if you are found innocent of charges in a lawful shooting that you can not be tried again in criminal or civil litigation.

Also my defense for special reloads is they are not to kill, however, to prevent over penetration and cause collateral damages.

i know, but supposedly, the new law prevents that if you are proven innocent, the family can not sue you in civil court

This has to be the worst case of rediculous internet lawyering I've ever seen! I'm almost speechless at the idiocy of statements you made. It's like a "greatest hits" of falsehoods put together.

Cops use standard bullets like Gold Dot etc. because they're proven quality rounds. And umm what bullets do you think people use to reload with? The same ones that ammo companies use to make the ammo cops use! rolleyes I mean I could be an idiot and not know that the same speer gold dots I can buy in bulk and reload aren't the same exact ones used in commercial ammo manufacturing I guess. And no court is going to care what kind of bullets were fired anyways. It doesn't even make sense that they'd care. They care about whether you were legally able to use deadly force period. But based on your ignorance even if a person was justified he could still be sent to prison for not using politically correct bullets. Do you not see the ignorance of your statements now?

And you don't have first hand experience with crap! You obviously don't know the law because first of all the burden isn't on you to prove innocence and if you're found justified you're immune from civil penalties.

Did you even take a CHL course? I doubt it. If did you obviously weren't paying attention or just came up with your own conclusions.

Yeah according to you every lawyer will blantantly violate the laws in court too.

So what are your thoughts on night sights and trigger jobs? You forgot to include those topics in your box set of lies.

Don't even worry about it. What he's missing the point on is that no one cares what type of ammo was used as long as you were justified.
