We put vasoline up the legs and put cayan pepper mixed in the vasoline then when the coons get it on them and try to lick it off they usually dont come back

I had the same problem last year 5 or 6 of those pesky rascals hanging off the slinger and all over the timer.Varmit guard cured that $20.00

Simpson COnnections from Home Depot...about $ each on the legs......cheaper then shark teeth and no maintenance once you screw them to your legs using self tapping screws.

Switch and others using a winch style feeders is you ever change out your barrel legs make them straight down. The logic here is the critters will clim up but without anything to hold onto such as the angled/slanted legs the trip down become very fast. This is what I do on my feeders and I do not have a varmit cages. Just a thought.
