Will cows go over the 36" hog panels? They are a bigger pain the butt than the hogs. I have to deal w/hogs & cows. I hate them both!!!

I've seen bulls jump 4' barbwire for a piece of tail but will a cow jump a 3' hog panel or just go thru it for some corn?

The biggest problem I have with wire is that sooner or later you are gonna have a deer get a leg caught in it. Just a matter of time.

Yes, cattle will jump hog panels. Best all around, MINIMUM size I've found to work well is 8 panels, but bigger is better.

You can somewhat control where the deer will access your pen by strategically cutting down certain areas of the panels by two squares. Deer are like people in many cases and will find and take the path of least resistance.

the cattle pens squares are smaller on the bottom, then increase insize going up. Might want to copy that appraoch with your barbed wire. Also extra t-post will help to keep the calfs from lifting up the wire. Good luck and yes post pics.

can some of yall post pitures of yall pens so I can either see changes I can make to mine or else see what i have done wrong with mine.

there is a picture of mine on here with the calf in it. I did go this weeknd and put fence stays up and that help with making the wire tight. I need to make changes though to keep the hogs out and am on a budget.

All my pens are pretty much the same no matter which ranch. One guy wanted octagon shaped pens. Getting the angles right was the only problem there. Panels work best for me, some folks use wire and get away with it. If wire is all ya got, go for the stays also.

Give em room. Two panels each side. Cut off top to acheive 42" high sides.

We cut 3 x 2 squares off the bottom of each side so fawns could get in to feed also.

We had to provide water last year due to extreme drought conditions. You should be able to see small square cut mentioned above just to the left of the protein feeder

Room for all.....
