The last two weeks of my waterfowl season should have been spent with my Lab at my side in my duck blind but instead I spent most of the final two weeks on the road as work carried me away to London for a week as well as a few 'local' meetings where the Rocky Mountains as well as the Mississippi River dominated the landscape. While I was away, I longed to be in the blind with my Lab…
Fortunately when I finally did arrive home, a package was waiting for me in the large stack of mail that I was eager to tear open as my copy of
Russell A. Graves wonderful book,
"Hunting Dogs - A Photographic Tribute" had arrived. I have been a fan of Russell’s photography for a couple of years now after I first saw some of his outdoor images featured in a magazine that I receive and like most of you, I very much appreciate the outstanding images that he shares with us on this forum in the photo section under his screen name, RussellG.
His images and words are inspirational and resonate with my spirit. As waterfowl season comes to a close, I look forward to spending time next to my fireplace with my Lab Jessie, allowing each of his images and stories about Pointers, Retrievers, Hounds and Spaniels to take me on a journey along a path that he has previously traveled and captured for us to enjoy.
Russell’s Hunting Dog book is available at Barns and Noble by searching on his name, “Russell A. Graves” or by clicking here:
Hunting Dogs: His other work is available via his website at:
