I need to build (or maybe buy?)a blind that I can break down and load on a 4 x 6 trailer to set up later at a lease. I have basic carpentry skills and basic tools to use. Does anyone know of such plans or have experience with something like this?

I have looked and looked, and in the DIY internet universe there is almost zero on deer blind plans. Or at least any you don't have to pay for. I broke down and bought some and they were horrible. If anyone has any ideas or plans I would appreciate the info. I am a decent carpenter, with direction, but designing and building from nothing would be a big mistake for me.

I'm looking to do the same, figure I'll build it, unscrew it and put together on site. Just gotta start planning

It is pretty simple if you have basic framing skills. Build your floor first permanently attaching the floor to the joists(make 100% certain it is square).
Next, frame your walls permanently attaching the studs to the top and bottom plates. Make sure you overlap your plates for the next wall to join (T plate), then temporarily join them together using 3" screws. When building the walls make your rear wall about 4-6 inches taller than the other 3 walls to accommodate the roof for drainage. Cut your studs to fit the interior pocket of the walls and temporarily join them to the framed walls.
Once everything is trued, drill through the studs on the top plates to the opposing walls and attach galvanized nuts and bolts. Make sure they are recessed so the roofing material is flush. Repeat this process for the corners of the walls and floors.

what dimension do you want it...4 x 6 x how high....i can draw you one up.......
the one we built we used 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 for the framing so it was lighter and we just used 2 1/2" screws to screw the panels together...

Thanks for the info on building a blind. I'd like for this to be a roomy 1 man blind, maybe 4 x 6. However, I want to be able to disassemble it so it will fit on a small trailer. I want to be able to put it back together by myself without a lot of effort at the lease.

here is a quick drawing i did in about 30 min so some of the dimension might be off a little but it should work. you can adjust the window and window height per your liking i used 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 framing for the blind and 2 x 4 for the base...with 1/2 plywood....some of the dimension will change if you use other materials. i would just run a few 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 across the top and put some tin on it for a roof

Wow! What a great drawing! Thanks. Now if I can only figure out how to print it so I can read the dimensions.....

i took the blynd and framed it with 2x2's and then use bolts to hold the panels together. this is a pic of the stand loaded on a 5 by 10 trailor. the panels are stacked under the base and the tin roof is on top. the stand is 4x8.

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.
