Our strangest event happened in Nevada in the late 90s during the opening weekend for early Teal. We used to hunt a 1,300 acre farm/ranch about 100 miles N of Vegas. It used to stay HOT there until at least November. On this particular opener it was REALLY HOT. In fact it was so hot that all of the corn on the ears started to pop. So much of it popped it turned the entire ranch white. Of course the cattle thought it was snow and nearly half the herd froze to death by nightfall.

ishootspoonies and myself took one of our friends who had never been duck hunting before out one morning. We werent seeing anything, so we were starting to get bored and fiddle with weeds...
ishootspoonies decides to go move a decoy... out of nowhere this crow flies up and starts heading towards him, while he is preoccupied with the decoy. me and our friend were just watching and i told him "shhh dont say anything...watch this.." the crow flew up to spoonies and darn near landed on his head before he turned around. When he did finally turn around, it scared the tar out of him and he almost fell in the water....
VERY entertaining and strange..

my brother in law and I had finished up a morning hunt, and wanted to do some scouting and jump a few ponds. So we were driving through a pasture and came up on 5 cows laying in a row absolutely dead. They had markings on them, and needless to say we hauled out of there as quick as we could.

What kinds of markings?
I heard of 'em being struck by lightning before and ending up like that

Me and my buddy were gettin up to call it a day and pack up the decoys when we had a group of four redheads come in. I pulled up on the lead bird and pulled the trigger. All four of them dropped dead . Best shot I have ever made.

The marks were put on them when they were doctored. The one's with the plus sign had been doctored twice.

i dont know if its my best but it was definitely memorable. i was goose huntin with 3 buddies in eagle lake and we had already put the spread out and still had about 45 minutes left til dawn broke. we were standin on a levee shootin the bull and the buzz of GWT broke the early morning silence. next thing we hear is a very loud thump followed by an even louder "HOLY SHEET, WTF WAS THAT?" we shined a flashlight down and a nice GWT drake was layin at his feet, feathers thrown about, twitchin all to hell. we couldnt stop laughin all mornin long and my buddy had a nice bruise on him for a week
