I had a couple of whole ducks (widgeons) in the freezer that needed eating. I breasted one out and as I found out later that was a mistake. I prepared pretty much just like I would a beer can chicken but instead of beer in the can I used apple juice. I was wishing that I had a Coors Light can because the Miller light can was just a little too big to fit all the way in to the cavity. I also drizzled the outside with apple juice, applied some cajun spices and cooked about 1 hour. Best dang duck I have ever had. It makes me wish I had more ducks in the freezer. I know it is a pain to plcuk ducks but just get you a little plucker for the drill and rough pluck while warm.

I love duck breasts. Just dont over cook it. Cook it like rare to medium rare steak.
As far as the beer can duck. That is a great idea. I will try it out next season. i made a beer can chicken and used a keystone and the can fit much easier than a bud light i used earlier in the month

A Coors can would work best on a smaller duck. I have one mallard left I am thinking that it will fit fine on a Miller Lite can. I might even be able to use my holder.

God help us! Tell me you didn't waste a perfectly good beer on a duck!
I can't hardly get my dogs to eat a duck.
