How do you feed them, how much are they, and do most feed stores carry it??? Please post any pictures of your feeders/alfalfa as well as your experiences with it.

If your planning on feed a bunch you need to find a way to buy it by the truck load. Great feed but very pricey if you buy it from the feed store.

I put some out this year back behind one of my feeders...it sat there until it finally withered away...nothing ever touched it that I saw. Looks like they may have rooted it around a bit the first day or two but after that, nothing. I figured they'd go wild over it...

Last weekend I had turkey feathers all over the bale under a feeder. The turkey and deer have been hitting it hard. The only downside I think is that I may be drawing hogs in with it too.

I have one area that during cool or cold weather I can't keep it in my hay barrel. Then in other sites they just will not eat it/ If and when I figure out how ta post pictures I will show yall a barrel I rigged up to feed alfalfa. To get them to eating it I first scattered some underneath my corn feeder. Now they will not eat the steams they will pick the leaves out and leave the steams. If you plant turnip greens mixed into your fall food plots deer will eat the greens and come summer you will only have some prety good size turnips just above ground I knew i shulda took picks of those turnip greens in my food plot.

I have been feeding a little alfalfa to the deer and they clean it up everyday. Also some mixed feed that I feed my goats and they eat it before they do the corn.

I throw a couple of bales out on the ground every time I'm at the ranch and it gets hit pretty hard. I know the elk/red deer love it and will camp out by the house until it's gone but I've also sat in a blind and watched the WTD crowd around a bale. At my place (pretty high density of WTD and exotics) a 2 string bale lasts about 3-5 days, so it doesn't have a chance to mold. I also don't see a reason to use a bale feeder of any type.
I second what another poster said about buying in bulk----per bale it's very spendy.
As an aside, since the critters seem to camp out on a bale, I've found a bunch of sheds in those areas....like maybe 25-30 in the last month or so.
Regards, Scott

Cubes work better and are easier... But if there is hogs around you will have everyone of them from 3 counties at your feeder
