I believe that is an African Serval. I may be wrong, but it's legs look too long to ba a fullblood bobcat. I have a good friend that has a Serval as a housepet, and it looks identical.

Is it illegal to own one in TX? The crap you have to go thru just to have a pet white tail is crazy. I figured all animals indiginous to the area would apply?

it is basically illegal to own one in any county surrounding a major city county. not sure that mad sense, but basically if your town/city is touching the same county that dallas/ft worth/houston/or san antonio is in you cant have one. I had one for 6 months. had it neutered, declawed, and litter box trained. I had to bottle feed that little turd for months!! Game warden confiscated him for a few days til it crapped all over his wifes bathroom and then he brought it back to me. He did make me find it a home in a legal county though. Ol' Tex resides in Pampa, Tx now. he is three years old and lives with a 2 year old whitetail buck and has a dog door to come and go as he pleases. lovin life.
to answer your question DOGO, you cant have one if you are in decatur because wise county touches tarrant and ft worth is in tarrant.

A friend of mine had one when he lived in Denton. It would come up to the back porch and eat scraps. Wouldn't let you pet it, but it was basically tame

Thats pretty awesome !!!
Ive heard that even in captivity, they still retain their "wild" tendencies. A lease I used to hunt up until a few years ago up near Clarendon, had an old farmhouse that the landowner still lived in, and she had a few of them that would sit in the sun on her porch of an evening. She told us shoot all the deer, coyotes, hogs, and porcupines we wanted, but dont dare shoot her cats. Needless to say, we never saw any of them except on her porch. Wouldnt have shot anyways... cool little animals.

That is a bobcat. I would let it continue to hang out, it will keep the rats down and keep the coons and other rodents away.
