not many turkeys out my way. Sometimes we see a few, but not very often at all. I tried several weekends of turkey season last year (lavaca county season is a month long) and came up with nothing but a coyote. but it was killed in gonzales county in the morning, and then i drove to our place in lavaca. i guess our lack of turkeys is what made me ask how the heck yall find em lol!

I prefer to start on the highest point on or very near the area I plan to hunt and be there before daylight and just listen. This way, I can strategically plan to get closer and view the birds without being seen.
Although it's not always possible, I try to stay out of the woods until I'm ready to hunt.
Gman This is great advice the less you disturb the turkeys before season the better off you are. Also the only call I may use before season is a locator call owl or crow.

A guy from NWTF told me every turkey hunter should also be a varmit hunter and I agree. Good work

sounds like you can do just about anything to get them to gobble. whats the best way to get them to you? I heard about a guy who got a gobble when he slammed his truck door.
