I was just thinking if anybody has ever used a Jet Ski as a duck boat. I guess it would be good for a solo hunt, have your deeks on your back and make a gun rack some how... may be a dumb idea... but it would be sweet! paint it camo and you'd be good to go. what do yall think??

I have always wondered why a camo jetski-type craft wasn"t marketed to hunters. I guess you would get too wet and also I bet the jet engine would clog-up with all the vegetation.

I've thought about the same thing many a times... but as WT2 said I would worry about clogging the impeller. It would be cool to see one though. How about you do it and let us know how it works

SeanC and I saw a jet ski opening day couple years back. It was far from camo, but he had it all set up and got where a lot of boats couldnt go...

Do jet skis have lights? Would need those. I think you would get too wet, plus does not seem very safe going accross a lake at night on a jet ski.

i gues if you have more than one you tow them in a tube when you and SeanC saw me a couple years back on the jetski I had Brett in the tube pulling him to the spot. He wanted to ride on the jetski, but it makes me uncomfortable when he sits close and wraps his arms around me when we are in the middle of the lake
Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post

I've thought about one for fishing but never thought about one for hunting.

I guess his hands were warm though

There used to be two guys on RR that hunted out of jet ski's. They had battery operated running lights that would suction cup on the front of them. Deeks and gun just tied down behind them on the seats, far from camo, but easily hidden. They did just fine. Some of them ski's are pretty durn BIG. http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/40-23400.htm

If you wore a dry suit, it would work. Went to Caddo Lake once with my jet boat, got the vegetation pulled into the intake. NOT fun. Just don't let that happen unless you can get it somewhere to get it out.

real funny guys... real freakin' funny! Take this pic to heart The only time you really will get wet on a jet ski is when the water is choppy. At 3-4 am the water is usually calm unless it's windy. Besides that you could wear your waders and it wouldn't be any different than riding in a boat on a windy day like this btw who's sitting next to who?????

Good thing they didn't run into a game warden. You CANNOT run a PWC between sunset and sunrise, even with lights. TPWD REGS

I seen guys running them at the coast for fishing, rod holders and all.
I saw a fishing video the other day and they where on the coast fishing out of jet powered Kayaks.
I was very interested but they are 4k, and no place for decoys or dog.
Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.-Sen Joni Ernst

the jet ski idea ain't a bad idea but it would definately be unsafe in the early mornin in the dark. especially when its crapy weather. which good duck hunting weather is crapy.
.....and if it sits on the water it dies too!

I know of a couple sinking resulting in one death. But that was a result of a collision during a race.
