Agreed,

That or shot one of the two on the left that were standing there looking for his corn bucket.

Funny how the STALK was so methdoical, then they hustled out there for the injured ram, and two of the one they were stalking, JUST STOOD THERE AND LOOKED AT 'em.

scratch confused2

After seeing the video, I'd say it confirms an idea. Keep shooting until they stop moving, that's a good motto. I shot a deer three times once with my bow and but he didn't get away. Sorry it went bad for you.

I bet if you would have killed that ram this thread would be a lot different. I am not taking up for Mr. Temple or his operation or the way he runs his operation. I do not know him personally but I have talked to him several times and he has always been very nice and helpful with whatever I have needed.

This is what I think about it...-

The ram was shot, you hit it. You drew blood. Therefore you pay for it buddy. Mr Temple bought that ram, placed it on his ranch and you booked the hunt. Everyone knows its a high fence ranch, who cares... If the animals are too tame PACK UP AND GO HOME! You don't have to shoot it!

Mr. Temple might have messed up and "bumped" the animal but who hasn't done something like that? If you were on a deer lease and you did that would you post on the internet and say that you ruined the hunt and talk bad about yourself? I don't think so.. Just because you payed $ to hunt there does not mean it is a guarantee kill. You are blessed to have had a shot at one even though it is not difficult you could have went and not seen anything.

And you are bow hunting. The animals are going to run 99% of the time. If you would have shot this ram with a 300 win mag and dropped it you would be happy and wouldn't be saying anything bad about Mr. Temple.

Forget that I am an outfitter, I am speaking all this from a hunters standpoint because when I have time I still hunt and I book several guided hunts a year. He might have made a mistake but its no reason to "trash" him on the internet. The guy specializes in RAM HUNTS. You probably went there to kill a ram and well, you had a shot opportunity and you drew blood.

High Fence, Low Fence, No Fence - Its called HUNTING. You do not always find or kill what you shoot at. You pay a guide for his time and the work he put into the hunt.

If he lied about something or treated you wrong thats a different story. But as long as you are given 100% effort and treated good you should not be unhappy. Guides can only do so much. We are not GOD, we do not control the weather or wildlife. You pay to hunt and you pay for the guides time. It is up to you to seal the deal and put the animal on the ground.

Why did you shoot that ram? It looked like it would of been easier to walk up and pet it to death.

The most important question of this prehistoric thread. WTH is this back up again for a debate? The horse and the ram have suffered enough.

I've been on hunts with people on the forum that are greatly liked , and their hunts aren't much different than described with the animals not being wild , hell one place I sat there talking to a fallow deer trying to get him to leave , he just sat there eating not giving a crap I was 15 yards away talking to him . Not defending this dude but lots of operations on here aren't much different when it comes to the animals
