You have to read the story in the exotics section.....the guide took off in front of him.....
Spend time with the ones you love. Time is not guaranteed.

Blew your cover you were in a white T-shirt and placed a bad shot. I also dont think he should have taken off like that either. I watched the video and was screaming as soon as you knocked him down shoot him again there was a good 10-15 seconds to get off a second shot and there was no follow up shot. I dont think you can blame that on him, he made a bad situation worst. A good first shot and the story would be MAN THOMPSON REALLY PUT ME ON A GOOD RAM. I am not trying to pick sides I am just trying to show a view from the outside.

Justin156bc.... I did not really know how the ram was hit, weather it was a good shot or not. Yea i made a bad shot, im not perfect like some people on this forum but from what i know, when u shoot something with a bow, normally u give it plenty of time to die insted of chasing it into the woods. Texas Proud.... Its a high fenced ranch, If i had some hay in my hand, these things would walk up close enough to stab it in hard with a knife. The white shirt doesnt bother them what so ever.

I understand that no one is perfect and people will make bad shots, believe me I have made my fair share of bad shots. Like I said before I dont believe what he did was right but a quick follow up shot would have helped the situation, especially a that time of day. I dont think you can blame the whole situation on Thompson.

Ya'll seem like decent guys Backwoods, but why the hell would your brother even consider going back there? Just my observation. The guy lied to you. Crappy lodging. Messed up your hunt. Why would ya'll even comtemplate returning?

This may be a little critical but based on these two statements, how in the world can you consider anything you take off that place a Trophy. Heck, I would just go to an Auction and buy one of the dang thangs, kill it in the trailer while in the driveway of the taxidermist and be done with it. I just don't get it I guess.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Sounds liken a typical Thompson Temple hunt to me, hes a man of questionable character and has one of the most disgusting operations I've ever seen. The facilitys's are beyond deplorable and the ranch is so over grazed that the only whitetails I seen were about to starve to death, one small 8 point that I seen one morning I found dead the following day. A quick trip down the creek turned up nothing but rotting carcasses and bones from years of dumping the headless bodies of past kills, all of which washed down from his property onto his unsuspecting neighbors. What he's doing to the watershed in that area is criminal as is his allowing the native whitetails to slowly starve to death, he is in my opinion the worst example of an outfitter that I have ever seen.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

What I did find intersting in the video was the blind in front of the hunters, that's the same blind I was in the first time out. When I walked in that morning there were about a dozen rams bedded down about 30 yards in front of the blind, at daylight they all came over to the blind and one big New Zealand actually stuck his heads in the door and I had to slap him on the nose to get them to leave. They soon left after figureing out I wasn't going to feed them and went down the road and around the corner where a couple of hunters were sitting in another blind. One of the hunters shot the same ram with a black powder as he was aproaching they're blind. I put the rifle up after that first hunt and hung around the cabin area the rest of the weekend. I wouldn't go back if you payed me.
