I am getting back into a ranch lease I was in during 2009-2010 season. $1800 per person for 2010-2011 (APR-JAN), includes utilities. May need a pot for a satellite set up. Prefer mainly bow hunters. We will rifle hunt after about the middle of december but we can discuss that later. Cows on the lease, 1600 acres for 10 guys. I already have 4 guys. I want ONLY management minded hunters, who will be respectfull and keep camp clean. Very nice camp with kitchen, bath, living and bunk rooms x 2. Central air and heat with nice view. 5 deer county, 2 buck, 3 does. This place is set up for deer hunting. Killing with a rifle will not be a challenge as there are tons of deer. From camera pics, we have 1 or 2 doe to 1 buck ratio. Biggest deer we have seen was 130-140. Most of the good bucks are 120 or so inches(12 or so on cam). With some good management we could get some 140+ inch deer by next year. I personally shot two cull bucks with my tags this season. We have turkey, hogs, doves, some ducks. 4 big tanks, 3 small. Email to interview for opening. I will need a reference from someone you leased with before to give to the owner. Please email not pm. Lease agreement with rules on paper. No guests or children, locked gate, house back in woods for nice security. 200 miles from Cedar Hill, Texas. Located just north of the airport in Llano, Texas. Paul pdebona1@tx.rr.com

Great area. I took this picture a couple of weeks ago on the Gillespie/Llano County line. They see deer like this every year and yes, there are tons of animals. You will have fun.

What if you've never leased before? Out of luck?

X2. I get the reasoning some people opt for that but it really goes against what I believe in. You always hear take a kid hunting, preserve our heritage, blah blah blah. I do this as I almost exclusively only hunt with my kids and nephews. I keep seeing lots of leases that state no kids allowed. I guess people have had enough bad experiences with kids or don't want to take the time to teach them. I see that as a parenting issue and I could go on and on about it. 10 guns here in this example without anyone interested in youth hunting. Did the people with these leases all start hunting as adults??? I think not.

I'd be interested if you backed it down to 6 hunters and have everyone pick up the differance.

I like the sounds except the kid part as well. One of the main reason I want a lease is to take my kid.

Guys....I have a kid and I want to take him hunting as well, but when someone controls a lease they have various reasons to their rules....
No big deal....we look further for one that fits are needs...

good luck...sounds like a great area.....and a great price..

Landowner's rules. Kids can be a big insurance liability for landowners. I like to dove and duck hunt too so it works for me for now. My kids are 4 and 5 so I have another lease in LA where I can take them. May consider doing 8 guys at $2000 each if interested. I will talk to the other guys, as they might want to do this too. Most of the guys bow hunt only so I don't want to bring in rifle hunters so the group can mesh, no offense guys.

We have had a lot of deer that are 9 and 10 pointers, just not enough mass. They just need some protein and minerals spring and summer.
