We no longer have the influx of snow geese in our area we used to have.
They just dont like the seed rice that is planted now compared to the old stuff that used to be planted.
Dogs work great to add motion to your decoys on a still day on a 12" deep grass flat
Divers are just as fun to shoot as anything else!
Ducks all taste the same to me
Think our ducks here have become fair weather ducks. Had many more successful hunts on slight wind days with clear skies than we did on heavy winds with overcast skies and the occasional drizzle of rain.

Here's a thought about light geese in South Texas....

In the past, farmers used to plant winter rye and wheat as cover crops to prevent weeds, etc. Nowadays, most of them spray their fields to kill weeds. It costs less money than planting a cover crop.

I wish I had taken the time to take more pictures. Especially now that the season is over I enjoy looking back at pics. Also, hunting in the ice was awesome!
