I had one like that in Erath county this year. He was like that on one side and a normal main beam on the other side with 4 points.

We use to shoot them like that all of the time in Llano County. Probably averaged 1 to 2 per year.

We discovered when fielded dressing him that the deer did not have any testicles! Hmm. Must of been one of those rare Married deer.

I have a question, killed an 8 point this year that had been shot before. Who ever shot him hit him in the leg and the bullet went through the leg and destroyed his testicles. He was basically nuetered. The would was fairly fresh, maybe a few weeks old. What would have happened to his antlers if I would not have killed him?
That is a crazy looking deer you guys got there.

I found it. It's called Testicular Atrophy. What causes it? Who knows. Studies have been done on Mule Deer and Whitetail alike. What happens is, when the Deers testicles don't drop, or, are underdeveloped or injured, the Antlers are effected. Usually, these Deer will never shed their Antlers. That's why when you see this in older Bucks their Antlers are Huge. They never stop growing, and becuase of lack of reprducing hormones, they don't shed / cast their Antlers, and spend their entire lives in velvet. +1. We killed one on our place last year. First one we had ever seen. GW told us it was a buck with Testicular Atrophy when we asked how to tag it.
