Where to start not sure really. But been trying to figure out a way to ask the better half to marry me. I hate doing this the normal regular ole way. So decided to do it during a duck hunt.

So yesterday morning we go to a slough on my lease. Only second time we hunted it this year. It is loaded too by the way. So 15 minutes before LST we have no less than 40 Mallards swimming around. Bumping into decoys you know the drill one ole hen gets leary of it all, and high tails it. They started trickling back in at sun up though. We let about 15 get down, then got in on em. Had a pretty steady shoot on Mallards, and Woodies till about 8:30. So I got the camera out and told my buddy to take some pictures with the girls. Got a couple with them. Then I said hey takes some pictures with me, and Jana. So I kneeled down Jana put her arm on my shoulder for a pose. We took a picture. Then I said take another. As she was posing for the 2nd shot I twisted my body, and pulled the ring out. Then said Jana look down. Thought she was gonna pass smooth out.

Fortunatly for her she said yes. Because that would be a long walk back. LOL.

Congrats!!! Man, I would've been really afraid to drop that ring in the muck! I proposed to my wife in an outdoor setting and every 3 seconds I was checking to make sure it was in my pocket. Way to go!

Just gave me an idea: girlfriend shoots a duck and i go get it and somehow attach the ring to one of the legs like a banded duck. Then come up with some cheesy line about banded ducks and jewelry!

Man that is awesome! Congrats I know the feeling of not wanting to lose it. I flew to New York to ask mine. Had the ring in my pocket the whole time- No way was I checking it. Even still, I remember reaching into my pocket every 5 minutes to make sure it was still there. Nerve wrecking to say the least!

Congratulations that's way cool. My wife wouldn't have gone for it but when it works it works.
