You going to go with the Vista, like I was playing with at Mike's ?? You can get software and mapping to interface with the computer with it.

I want to get lost out there. I can think of far worse places to get lost at. If I was lost, I wouldn't have to leave!

Photobucket can take a direct feed from the camera, without having to download on your computer

You guys are killing me!!!

At least I get to read about it
and see some pic's (keep'em coming).

Roy, unless you've already bought a GPS
or have one with all the bells and whistles
you've decided you just have to get,
the little yellow etrex by Garmin (about $100.00)
is a very servicable unit. No maps or such but
has very good battery life, gives good info and
has gotten me back to the truck many times I
otherwise would have done ALOT more walking.
(Not lost really, just not sure the best way
to get there ) But if you've already
decided on one of the whiz-bang models, who
am I to get between a man and his toys, er, I
mean tools

Again, sounds like y'all had a trip that will
always be remembered and that's a GREAT thing.

Roy, a GPS is a fun toy, but I hav seen way too many people buy the things, mess with them a few months, and then stop carrying them. All you need to do is pick out some landmarks and maybe get a real good topographic map or arial map of the ranch and get all the drivable roads figured out. Also, and old Indian trick, always look back at the country your traveling thru. "White man only looks at one side of things, don't recognise the country when he goes back the other way. Indian looks at all sides so he will know where he needs to go on the way back." Also, always park your vehicle on the highest spot around, so that you can see it from a long way, and carry some survey tape with you.

If you'll poke a stick in the ground and
watch the shadow for an hour, you won't
even need a compass.

I'M KIDDING!! JUST A LITTLE HUMOUR!!
OK, very little.
