Ar15 with a 16" barrel and a collapsable stock. Mine is .223, but i'm looking at getting a 6.8 spc. Mine has a perfect fit between my leg and the door when i'm driving around.

When I hear the word "truck gun" I just picture an old 30-30.
That being said, I like a small caliber bolt action. Something like a 204,223,222,243.

I like your idea of the 25 wssm. My buddy has one that is short and sweet. Remington with composite stock. Not sure of the model #. It has killed a many a hog and deer from the truck. Everyone from kids to grown men have used it with exceptional results.

My truck gun is an old Winchester model '94 that I got years ago in a pawn shop for $100. No optics to get banged around, no big investment to get scratched up or dirty, fairly hi-cap, and good to 200 anyway.

The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

.308 Marlin EXP Hands down... I carry mine everywhere. It's a lever action so it's short and compact, I have mine scoped and I don't hesitate to take a a shot out to 300 yards. It's just as at home at 200 yards as it is at 50. It's relatively inexpensive to shoot. I wouldn't trade mine for anything....
