My girlfriend decided she wants to go hunting with me. Needless to say I was pumped. Now I need to decide what gun would be best for her to use out of what I already have. We'll be hunting hogs after deer season.

What do yall think? I want her to be comfortable with it but shes a tough one anyways.

Trying to stick to bow only this year.... Not going to good..

plus told my wife she coud shoot my buck at my buddies place.

So that just leaves north of the Red River and Public... And both have been rough this year.

take her to the range and let her shoot them all, then let her pick. sounds like she probably needs to do some shootin any way.

Whatever you choose to go with make sure the scope has plenty of eye relief so she does not get a scar from it. Years ago my sister told her boyfriend to let her shoot and that idiot handed her his 30.06 and she had never fired a gun before. Spent the rest of the day in the emergency room and has never gone hunting again.

I say go with the .35 Remington.

If from a stand, the 308 reset with reduced recoil rounds would be good especially under 150yds

I would say go with the 308, good round and the recoil is manageable for just about anyone.

Has she shot any shotguns yet ? Or that fact, any guns that have to be shouldered.

X2 I let my 8 year old nephew shoot two deer with it this year and he didn't even have it on his shoulder it was on his muscle.

My 10 year old son shots my .30-06 with light mag loads and has no problems. And he only weighs about 65lbs.

If you have a 20,,add few 6s an let her put the squeal on few. Other wise let her spray liberaly with 223.

Let her decide. Start her with the AR then go to the .35 then the .308 and finally the .06. If she gets to a jumping off spot stop there. Help her understand the difference in all and what to expect.

use that ar and let me know how it shoots!

AR or .308. She should be fine with any of the guns listed. If she's never shot before (viejo) don't throw the .06 at her. The noise and the kick may turn her off to it...
