Thanks BIZ, and Many Thanks to all of you that have taken time to vote.

Now is where I start getting Hard A$$ on this issue. It is just a little after 9:30 p.m. and there are 128 signatures on the petition. There have been 471 Views of this post here on The Forum, I also posted the info about the petition on the TFF, The Hunter's Lounge, and Accurate Reloading.

Now from what I see at the bottom of the THF Main Index page, we supposedly have almost 4200 members. Either a lot of folks don't want to take the time to mess with the petition or just don't care about the future of hunting.

This is pure nonsense folks! This is something that will help change the attitudes of game thieves that steal from all of us that enjoy hunting and fishing.

People always set around and say what can we do to help the situation, yet when given the chance they turn their backs.

I would really like to know why some folks even joined the Forum, if they have no desire to get involved. Maybe this is just a glimpse as to why we will end up losing our hunting rights, too much apathy from folks. I guess a lot of folks think if we set still and not cause any problems or call attention to ourselves, the PTB's will just leave us alone.

I hope and pray that I don't live long enough to see the end of hunting, but I do believe it will happen before 2050.

I can't understand why, when we have a chance to show our legislators and fellow citizens that we want to see poachers controlled, and that we do feel that we are true conservationists that want to see our sport continue, so many folks are either too busy or just plain don't care.

You need to take into account folks may be viewing this several/multiple times, tooo.

I have, whether it is to see what the number is up to, or to get the link to pass on to friends, etc. I think that there have probably been multiple/user views, is not an unreasonable consideration.

You are probably right in your comment, but with almost 4200 members, why are the same folks looking at this over and over. This isn't a popularity contest. Plain and simple fact, we have a chance to send a message to an element in our society that such things as what BIZ and WildBoar described won't be tolerated by the rest of the hunting community.

All we are trying to do, is to get Texas to either crap or get off the pot. We were the 38th. state to pass the right to carry a sidearm law. We seem to continually run behind on everything, except population growth.

As it stands right now, we would be 26th. in line for passing such legislation, if it was passed today. If we wait, we will be around 33rd. or higher.

We all claim to support hunting and each others rights to hunt, are we also going to support peoples rights to poach our wildlife resources.

Ch, look at this in another way! I have not read the afore pages on this thread. I did vote, but you have to look at the responce is kind of like voting in a civic referendum or any other types of voting that requires the turn out of the public. If you take the appx. total numberof available voters in a given situation, you'll see the percentages are mostly lopsided when it come to turn out. People like to sit around the coffee shop and carp about something that gripes their a$$es off but when it comes to exerting the effort to try to change it they won't get off their butts to do it. Probably that is what you have here. One of my buddies that views the Forum says he likes to see arguments and laughs about it but he won't submit anything to the Forum! JMHO

You bring up a good point, but I just feel that it is easier to try and convince people to get involved, and get them to quit griping and not do anything about a problem, then to wait until farther down the road, and when they come back and say "Well I Should Have Listened And Got Involved", pulling out a gun and blowing what few brains they have out.

If people don't have the intestinal fortitude to just make a few key strokes on a computer, then why even check out or join forums. This is something that is going to play a part in the future of hunting, and if enough of us don't get our heads out of our arses and start taking some stands and making some committments to get involved we will lose hunting a lot faster than we think. Just my opinion, thanks for your comment.

As of 10:45 p.m. Tues. Nov. 21, 176 people have signed the petition. There is some interest out there, but it still don't work out to over 4000 members on just this Forum alone. Come on folks, this is an important deal, and Texas needs to stop sucking hind teat on everything.

Maybe a Mod or JP could send an e-mail to all the members! I'm sure many members just don't know.
