The Wooden Spoon on Highway 6 in Calvert (Robertson County, north of Bryan) has some really good chow. The fried fish and the chicken-fried steak are both excellent.

I walked into te Dairy Queen in Calvert one Sunday just after noon, and was severly out of place. We got the cold shoulder and the hurry up and get out treatment. The lease we were looking at then is now back up for grabs so we may have to check it out, and maybe they will be a little more neighborly.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You probably interrupted the high school kid employees text messaging one another when you walked in.
Folks around that area were sure happy to see some alternatives to DQ open up.
