I know how you old men are, you tend to whip up on young 35 year olds like myself.. LOL
What most folks don't realize is that at 1000 yards, the cross hairs of a normal scope will COVER UP a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

I know there are more people on ths forum (and elsewhere) who can make long range shots.. I've see some competition guys do it..

My point is that the shots can't be made reliably by me or anyone else without much practice to do it.

So many variables come into play at those distances..

Any of us could make 800 yard shots with enough tries at it..
But would you risk wounding an animal at 800 yards with one of those shots?
Getting set up for the initial shot is difficult enough. Target acquisition for a follow up shot is a whole different matter.

Like your motto, we regulary shoot,at that 1-800/ silouetts big guns life size, and to 175 with 22s,smaller silouett versions and for getting line of fire dead on and its doable up here,,but I agree with you on animals,,

That 7 point I did the Eruo mount of is proof of a 350 yard DRT.
