steves meat market in Brady tx Ate some of their sausage, it was outstanding !! Used Joshua Deer Processing this year because it's close to the house. The sausage is really good, got brats with cheese and jal. , summer and cheese and jal. sausage. All are excellent !!

I plug in a large freezer when I kill my first deer of the season I skin all the hair off wash it real good let air dry and place whole body in freezer. I then lay a large trash bag on top and place in the next one when I shoot it, and so on. Then about 2 or 3 weeks after season is over I take a live hog or two that I trapped and fed in a pen all season about 30 to 60 days along with my frozen whole deer to my processer and have my burger and sausage mixed and keep choice steaks and bacon. I do all this so I know I will get my meat back because they do not have any other deer there..

I'm too impatient to read the whole thread, so I don't know if Hamilton Meats in Weatherford has been mentioned. I've always had good results with them.

CROSSPLAINS FROZEN MEAT MARKET\\ MIKE AND EDS SMOKEHOUSE CROSSPLAINS \\FIELD DRESSED DEER AND HOGS $75.00 they both have great smoked sausage\\\ jalapeno and cheese sausage, deer meat only Crossplain frozen foods will cut the hog with bone in ham steaks and pork chops may favorites. Only problem mike and eds only open during deer season and crossplains frozen foods quit taking hogs during stock show time. Also Solvachiks in snook tx makes some of the best sausage around just too far for me.cheap too if you bring in boned out meat.

If you are from the Jefferson County area, try Ancelet's on Twin City Hwy. They have done a great job for me. Great product, affordable and you always get your meat back. www.rockcreekranchhunt.com

I used C&C Processing in Conroe for over 15 years but had a VERY bad experience in 08. I took 6 deer to them for processing and it took almost 4 months to get my deer back and a cost of almost $600. The meat was so bad (probably not even mine) I had to throw it all out. Called the owner and he offered no help. Needless to say went to another place that a friend referred me to called Silver Seal in Tomball. They are GREAT! Will go back to again and again.
