Hope it was accidental, he wasn't shot was he Mike?? He just got hung up in the fence??? Still a sad deal, would hate to hear he was shot at, though.

Nope, he just got top wired. I'm kinda damned if i do and damned if i don't. I really don't want to go high fence, but it's about the same for me to just add another 4 ft of sheep wire as it is for me to rebuild my top wires. It's the labour, not the materials.
Roy!, i made a mistake on my directions, they sold out again and it's changed names. The name on the sign is China Grove Gathering System. Just remember it's 3 miles on the right after you turn on to 821. Just follow that road to the pens, set up across from the pens. From Wal-Mart it's only 11 miles to the 821 turn off. My original mileage was from the house.

Pretty common in this area, most ranchers use 4 ft of sheep wire and then 2 strands of barb wire across the top. I lose 1-2 deer a year. Quote:

DPS has been notified. They've sworn to keep both west bound lanes of I20 clear.

Looks like my daughter will be receiving her orders to go over next year. God Bless And Be With Our Troops!!
Tommy, Prayers sent for her to have a safe and wonderful hitch in Iraq. And may the Lord watch over all serving there now. Hope you all have a wonderful & safe "Veterans Day". I know I will. Looking forward to the hunt, campfire, and fellowship very much with Mike, Roy and the rest of guys. I am ready for the fun to start!! James

After i got through feeding last night i sat about 200 yrds from my far west blind. Had 2 little 6's and a big wide 10 show up. I think the 10 may go over 140, he was wondering where you were. I told him not to be impatient. Other than allot of rubs and a few scraps, not much sign of the rut.

TheHag, I'm truly sorry for you and yours, but Please tell your daughter Thank-you from us, She is doing the hardest duty for us that she can possibly do. During her tour next year will be the longest year you'll ever have, I KNOW WHEN MY SON MADE THE FIRST TRIP ALL I COULD THANK OF, WAS WISHING I COULD GO IN HIS PLACE, Having seen combat myself I didn't want our young man too have to go thourgh it.He has made three trips and is now out of the service. BUT WE WILL support those young men & woman AT ALL TIMES. IF YOU COULD PM ME WITH HER ADDRESS I'LL HAVE HER UNIT PLACED ON OUR CARE PACKAGE LIST, it's not much just a little touch of home while they are overthere protecting us. God Bless

HWY_MAN, Thanks for looking into there agenda for us. I am sure we can change their place of residence pretttty quick. Tell them not to worry because we will be there reeeeeal soon! I am about 10 foot off the ground just dying to get underway. When we get there we will try to give them a good thumping for sure. Just hope they don’t fall in love with any of your distant neighbors before we get there. Looking forward to the campfire, stars, and peace and quite of the country for a change. James

Hope You'll do well and have a Happy Veterans Day!
THE WOODS HAS MUCH TO OFFER TO THE HUMAN SOUL! Genesis 27:3 Now then, get your equipment--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

The daughter doesn't know where she may be going yet. They've been sending her to some special training classes here lately. She's medical (histopathology, blood borne infections, chemical infections and stuff) in the USAF and so who knows where she may go. She's out in California now at Travis. We're just worried about the 2 year old granddaughter if and when it happens with the baby having a butthead for a father. All you vets out there,,,, thank you and may you have a wonderful Veterans day. Good luck guys on the hunt. It doesn't matter if a deer is going in the freezer or not... it's all the companionship and memories made in the field. You guys honk as you drive by Abilene on the way out there. Only 100 miles from the front door of my office to his place.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours Hag.
As far as the butthead...well, I can't say it here...

Well.............If the above threads don't mean much to a person....not much does. This is the most important hunt I will be on this year, and possibly in my entire life without a doubt. I have never, ever seen such a great class of men in TeamHillbilly, jeh and Ran. They sit here and thank us for taking them out on a hunt, but WE should be thanking them everyday, for the freedoms we have. The cedar isn't bothering me, it's the mesquite that has my eyes watering(yeah right). I look forward to sharing good times at camp, and more so when they shoot that nice deer. Sounds like Mike has seen some nice ones already, hope they connect. If anyone needs to be thanked, it is Mike. He was more then generous and willingly in this hunt. Like I stated, Randy, Bob and James it will be an honor to be IN your hunting camp. I look forward to more of these hunts with you guys, for sure
