My wife and I moved to Hewitt June 1, 07. This year I took one whitetail and one muledeer buck off my lease in West Texas. Both were taken to Fulton's in Waco. I had each back within a week of drop off. I really like thier work and friendly atmosphier. I would highly recommend them.

There is a place off FM 45 before you get to Brownwood called Perk's Processing(I think). My buddie's ranch is about 22 miles west of Goldthwaite so it's pretty close. Both deer I have shot they have fixed up, and did a superb job.

Just got mine back from Hall's in Coleman. They have done a wonderful job. Got the brekfeast sausage, Jap Cheese Smoked Sausage, Jap Cheese Summer Sausage, cube steak and whole backstrap. It's feedin time!! Growning up all I had was Kuby's from Dallas and it was the gold standard. Hall's is just as good as Kuby's in my opinion. Great job guys.

Clear Fork Country about 3 miles east of Graham on 380.
Great jalapeņo cheese sausage, smoked sausage, ground burger.
Reasonable price, fairly quick, taste great.
Real good folks to deal with.

Cox's between Comanche and Proctor is pretty good all the way around and very quick. Bagwell's just south of Hamilton makes some pretty good sausage and ground venison, but don't care for the disposition of the some of the folks there.....and not just me. Locally, Lee's Deer Processing in the Rendon area just off of FM 1187 between Mansfield and Burleson is excellent too. I've not used them, but I've also heard great things about the processor in Joshua that others have mentioned.

I hate to knock a place but the last 2 deer I took to Kubys were shot with a bow...I bit into 2 bullets in 2 different packages of chili meat from there and haven't been back.
I have used Bayco in Seymour several times and in my opinion their summer sausage can't be beat!

If you don't mind quartering and de-boneing your kill, Kent Wenzel and Wenzel's Lone Star Meat company in Hamilton are hard to beat. I consider myself an expert when it comes to meat processing and marketing and I really like what I see there at Kent's place. Cleanliness is the first thing you will notice about his place, then there is the Smoke dried Jagerwurst (Dried German Sausage). If you hunt arround Goldthwaite, San Saba or Cherokee and live in DFW, Wenzel's is right on the way home. Here is a link to his website and prices. Wenzel's Lonestar Meat Co.

M&M in Zepher have taken our deer there for the last 3 seasons. Some of the niceist people you will ever meet.

Still having great things to say about Po' Boys Outback, Merit, Texas (east of Dallas, near Farmersville). Steve and family do a fantastic job, totally separate storage containers, no meat switching possible, a neat freak on the inside, great prices and great products!
Get the Pepper Sticks!!!!!!!!!!! German Sausage is great to0.....never had anything bad from there in years and years....even with the stinkiest of hogs or exotics, he is the way!!!!!!!

Joshua...first time there...2-week turn-around...you get your own deer and the price is very reasonable. Will use them again.

Used TEELS CUSTOM MEATS in Weatherford and so far it was great!! Got plenty of meat for just an 70 lb doe. Breakfast sausage is great and guys there are just as friendly as can be. Price is pretty good too. He is located on 51 as you leave downtown Weatherford.

Completely agree! We used to have a place there, but lost the lease. However I always like to take some meat up there anyways!

I took an elk to Kuby's last year and I felt like my sausage were pretty heaving on the pork -- I think they sold me too much sausage and just filled it up with pork, but who's to know - and it was probably my fault too because it was my first animal and I had no idea how much to order. I just kept saying some of this, some of that, etc. Took a 1.5 yr old doe there this year just for processing and no sausage -- pretty sure it's my deer because it's by far the best deer I've ever had (this was my first deer - i've eaten a lot of other people's deer though). So good, it's made me want to harvest a young doe every year. But given the price, to be honest, I think I'll go somewhere else next time.
