I hunt in Coleman just north of town. The bucks are looking for hot does, but the does are not ready as of last weekend. The rut is right around the corner though.

i'm also gonna be in the area.

Some of the guys in this thread and myself will be meeting up to talk about the deer hunting this weekend. If anyone is interested in meeting up with us, PM me your contact info.

The particular where we will be meeting is Caradan, basically between star and zephyr. Star isn't far if you know the correct dirt roads.

We hunt out that way and we are seeing some deer chaseing. Some nice young 8's and 9's but have yet to see something to shoot. I beleive the bucks are ready but very few does are. The bucks we see chasing are all after one doe. Ive seen four bucks chasing a single doe. So ime thinking these next three weekends will be really good. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!

If yougo through goldthwaite go like your going to go to hamilton then take 2005 and follow it a few miles then the road will split and it will say caradan goes left so go left. Just follow the signs on 2005 and youll get there. My grandpa has a place down there

where is caradan??

Mapquest it....The shortest way to Caradan from Star is going on dirt road from Center City to Caradan. I could tell you but its a lot of turns. I live 30 miles from Caradan in Gentrys Mill so i know the roads pretty well.
