Hays county, my brother-in-law shot a 7 point buck on my place opening morning. Not a lot of activity except a few small yearlings. Hope the rut kicks in. I am going to try this weekend. Also, started seeing some pigs. Need to get rid of them before they become a problem.

My buddy got a gorgious 8 point about 7am opening morning. I filled a spike-tag about 1/2 hour later. Next morning my cousin got a really nice 9-point not 20 yards from camp. I saw a non-shooter 7 and a couple border-line 8's and more spikes Sunday morning. I got meat in the freezer now, so holding off for a mature buck. If I make it to the last weekend without getting one I'll take another spike.

Saw 1 doe Sat. morn.. 1 big buck(I'd say <>140 class) running thru the woods but never had a chance @ a shot. Usually see 5-10 does everytime I'm out. Not this time. Game cam's shows everything was coming in from 12am to 4:30am. Too hot, moon too bright, too many acorns. 1 of the worst openers in 10 years. Still loved being out there. I think this coming Sat. eve & Sun. morning should be good w/the storm coming.

We got 4 coyotes, 2 hogs and 1 doe. It was very quiet opening morning in Leon county. We did see some small young bucks and few does, but they are all moving at night from the game cams. cheers

LMAO, it is only about a 5 minute walk to the house, but that was a long 5 minutes this morning.

hunted in trinty county. Did not see anything sat morning. Sat. evening saw a nice 2-3year 6 point. Was not outside ears, but very high. Could have shot him last year, but AR's kept him alive this year. Sun morning saw small doe and ok 8point, but still inside ears. Nothing sunday evening. Monday morning saw 8 doe that I have been seeing all year long. Nothing chasing them though. Hardly any shots this past weekend. Usually WWIII. Been seeing a lot of deer before season, but they clammed up an staying in woods til dark. Spot light showing a lot of deer moving in dark. Smart fella's Id say.
