Still grouping up in Cherokee Co, at least in my neck of the woods. I did see a nice big 8 chasing a doe at Camp Mabry this weekend though. I will be heading out to our farm in East Texas Thurs-Sun since I had to miss opening weekend due to Army stuff.

Nothing going on in Wilbarger or Hardeman yet. Small bucks are getting a little antsy but the larger ones are grazing with the does . Have seen quite a few smaller bucks by themselves.
I guess the big boys are starting to put the wup--- on them .

Any updates? Saw really nice 10 pt cutting across field but outta bow range Tues. I sat solid last 2 days, no chasing does that I saw. Watched couple does and yearlings grazing without any bucks nearby in mornings & evenings. Nothing exciting on trail cams either.....

I wonder if the stars are correct and this is the big weekend? Cold snap sun night might help movement ehhh?

West of Denton on 380 I seen 7 does all together and a single doe standing by the fence with a nice 10 guarding her. They didn't care about the traffic. Thanksgiving week should be WILD!!!!!

I saw a nice mature buck chasing hard on Saturday as he ran in front of me on 114 just west of 287.

However, as of last weekend, I was still picking up bucks in batchelor groups on game cameras, but did see a young buck running a doe.

Young bucks are running for sure. Not the older boys though.

The 3.5's are moving about but not the 4.5's and older. I think it could happen this weekend though.

Buddy shot a nice 140 class 11 point at the lease this weekend. Had a lot of character. Another buddy saw some 5.5's moving about that he passed on because they weren't big enough. Sound like it's hppening now.

Wife came in about 10 last night and saw a buck chasing 2 does almost in our front yard. Just outside Bridgeport.

Have seen 3 bucks in same area on the LBJ grasslands, got all three on my game camera, Will post picks later, one is a spike and then a fork horn and a very nice 8 point well outside the ears! The spike and the 8 point are the only legal bucks and I hope to shoot one this week! Have not seen them running does yet.....

Brave man leaving a game camera on public property. Those kind of things tend to grow legs out there.

Picture removed.

no worries where I hunt I have NEVER come across another hunter smile most public land hunters never walk more than a 1/2 mile from their truck! besides if your not looking for it you would never see it! Not to mention they would have to cut down a tree that is approx. 32" in diameter smile how many hunter do you know that carry a chain saw or heavy duty bolt cutters into the woods LOL smile
