Not that you care, I wouldn't at this point but was he spooked or chasing a doe or do you know?

I was driving back to camp, and I spotted a smaller buck chasing a doe I was watching them, and caught a glipmse of this guy out of the corner of my eye about 200 yards further out, just lurking in the cedars. He was just letting the little buck do all the work I guess. When I went out after him, he just bedded down (I didn't know that though). I went out in the direction I thought he would be moving, and was just hoping to jump him up or catch a glimpse of him moving through the brush so I could continue to stalk. I had given up and took a couple steps toward the pick-up when he jumped up (I had walked right by him). I hit him as he was running from me.

Cool. Sounds like one of those rare chances that come along sometimes when you get to put yourself int that right place at the right time moment.

Great job!

That reminds me of the deer that I will never see, but I will go every chance I get to make sure he is not there. Nice deer.

Yeah, I'm gonna saw all that messy stuff off of it. Make him a clean 10. He'll be easier for my wife to dust that way.

If I remember right there is a little more farmland on the Oklahoma side. Which, in my opinion is a good thing.

Wow what a deer!!! How old is your son? He might live another lifetime before he gets this chance again.
