This was in an area that was mostly weeds and vines. One plant had wrapped itself around every branch and main truck of the tree and was on its way to choking it out. The wife liked it, so I cleared around it and there she is..

Sorry about the blended background. Hopefully you can zoom in for detail.

Yep, she has a crooked trunk. Probably fighting for light when she was young.

Oh, I didn't want to hear that. Aren't they invasive?

Willows are a trash tree, I’d run over it and buy her a better tree. I hate those almost as much as locust trees.

Yeah, the willows down here usually can be found around ponds, or low-lying areas where water will collect.

Coat-tailing here. Is this a mountain laurel, or similar?

I like willows more than Locust trees. A willow won’t stab you to death.

My grandfather and I used to cut down a lot of willow tops and sink them in certain spots on Toledo Bend for crappie holes. The treetops provide structure that attracts fish, but are easy to pull out of without getting hung up, like with a Christmas tree.

Willow

I treat them an Honey Locust like I treat feral hogs. I kill every one I find on my land.

Chain saw it off, and spray the stump with 1 part Remedy and 4 parts Diesel. I keep a can with that mix ready to go 365 says a year.
