I seem to remember the value proposition on these being kind of questionable relative to something like a Solus action, or ARC Coup de Grace

Oh wait I'm silly. If you're going for LA then that's a different ball game.

Shows $1125.00 for this. Ran across it last night, know nothing about them. I used my last la to build a 7mag, have a sa in the safe but wanting to do a little tinkering with a 25-06
and not spend a lot on it. I may find a cheap rifle just for the action square it up myself.

If that means you have both the machines and know how to truly do it yourself, i am jealous!.

Because of this thread i looked at the PTG website. Now I am curious, anyone have any experience with their actions? As low as $700 seems kinda nuts to me.

I swore off of them (PTG)years ago. Too many customer service issues, year long shipping on items they say are in stock, and two reamers that were one flute wonders. No thanks!

Zermatt, ARC, Defiance and a few more make actions at that price point that come with minimal issues.

If you have a lathe you can do what needs to be done. The mandrel guided cutters, tap, and bushings cost a chunk of change. There are all kinds of kits/videos that say you can do everything by hand but if you don't start with a concentric bolt race the end results are not going to be as good as using a lathe. I don't use mine much anymore and traded it to a guy for overhauling and restoring a Massey 135. I'll use the machines here at work when i need to.
