I dont know anything about all this stuff, but Ive always shot partitions so I dont need to know anything else. I dont think there is a more consistent bullet out there, Good or bad, its predictable. My favorite 25-06 load was 100gr partition. firm believer in the more solid construction of the bullet harder you need to push them at impact

Killed my first elk with a 150 grain from a 270 win.

Not a Berger guy here. My experience with them on deer is with a 7 mag and a 300 win Mag. From a long ways they do what scdogman’s picture showed. At more reasonable ranges on game where I shoot most deer, I expect similar to what Jgraider showed. This is the exit with a 168 VLD from my 7 mag on a big whitetail buck quartered to me a little short of 200 yards. Some of the guys I hunt with love that level of explosiveness and have no qualms about blowing a deer up. Partition, Accubond, ballistic tip, and sierra game king are my preferred hunting bullets.

Good pic Smokey. Yeah, that's not my idea of good bullet performance. Exploding bullets aren't for me.

Good pic Smokey. Yeah, that's not my idea of good bullet performance. Exploding bullets aren't for me. I don’t know, JG, he looks pretty dead My 123 scenars sometimes leave exits like that. They will be either a silver dollar or look like that. The more research I’ve done, it’s the bullet tumbling. I would rather the exit look like that if I have to track one though and I don’t mess with the ribs anyway. Last doe I shot I hit in the point of the shoulder, came out behind the other…Berger 130, I’m confident I won’t get any of that shoulder I hit. Not a shot I normally take but the wife was out of burger and I had 3 minutes to make a shot. I can always shoot another to make up for meat loss, the travesty

Pushed fast they shoot as tight as anything I’ve loaded. Some of the men I hunt with really like them.
